CT Needs an E-Bike Rebate

CT Needs an E-Bike Rebate
Transport Hartford has put together this “Letter of Support” that they want to send in with a lot of signatures calling for a e-bicycle rebate program in parallel with the EV car rebates. E-bikes have a much lower operating and life cycle emissions footprint than EV cars and SUVs. E-bikes also have an equity and accessibility benefit in cities and low income communities where an EV car (or any car) is outside the household budget. The mobility (and air quality) benefits of EV’s shouldn’t be concentrated only on upper income households. Beyond fitness and recreation, e-bikes (including cargo e-bikes) can significantly expand someone’s radius for daily bicycle commuting, regardless of ability.

Thanks for your support, and for sharing this sign on letter in your networks and via social media. We’d also love to get many of CT’s bicycle shops signed on, as they would be the vendors for e-bikes (and upgrade kits) that could get rebates. Please share this with your favorite local bike shops.

Keep up the great stuff. Happy Earth Month! And soon – Happy National Bike Month!
