The holidays are here! Join us for the Torchlight Parade, brighten the holidays for a family through Project Santa, buy a Heritage Brick as a gift, and remember our local charities on Giving Tuesday. Thank you!
We have a fun evening of holiday festivities planned for Saturday, December 7th in Windsor center at 6:00 pm organized by First Town Downtown and sponsored by Windsor Federal.
The fun starts with the carol sing on the Windsor town green at 6:00 pm. During the carol sing, enjoy a complimentary hot chocolate!
After the singing comes the parade! At 6:30 the Torchlight parade of more than 20 vehicles and marchers will began on Capen Street and progress through the town center in all its lights, music and fanciful decorations! We hope you grab a spot near the street to watch the brightly decorated fire trucks and other festive vehicles parade by in their holiday glory!
There will be prizes for best decorated vehicles including the Santa's Sleigh Award, Mayor's Award and Rudolph's Award with judging by local personalities.
Note: In case of terrible weather, the events will be postponed to Sunday, Dec. 8.
This event is brought to you by First Town Downtown with the support of the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department, Presenting Sponsors Windsor Federal Bank, and Carmon Funeral Homes.
Back East Brewery is the official adult beverage of the torchlight parade! Thank you for your sponsorship!
If you would you like your group or vehicle to be in the parade, please email info@firsttowntown.org
GivingTuesday is a day that encourages people to do good. It has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Donate Today to First Town Downtown Inc to help us keep Windsor center a thriving hub of activity and economic growth!
Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give.
In an era of global crisis and disconnection, we need new rituals to connect us. As the world's largest giving movement, we believe we can go further, faster.
GivingTuesday strives to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity and equity around the globe. We believe that generosity leads to greater civic participation and other pro-social behaviors.
