What's Cropping Up At The Farmers' Market this week?
The First Town Downtown Farmers’ Market is in full swing with yet another nice day predicted for Thursday!

Come visit our hard-working vendors who are proud of the quality products they bring to the Farmers' Market. It's a great chance to shop for a variety of items from fresh produce to baked goods to beauty products. Chances are high that you will run into your fellow Windsor friends while you are there!

Kids have a chance to make their own chalk art on the Farmers' Market lot. Hopscotch, anyone?

Our participants this week include Barbecho’s Harvest, Beldotti Bakery, Blessed Creek, Fanciful Flowers, Farms of Southern New England, Gragnolati Garlic Farm, One Song Biscotti, Quties Body Bar, Rooster Rise, Stefan Farms, Sweet Harmony Café, Tomaca Designs, Sweet Pea Cheese.

This well-attended local marketplace takes place on Thursdays in Windsor Center at 240 Broad Street, from 3:30 to 6:30 through October 18. Look for Kathy Kopacz to get your e-passport stamped. Finish your evening by attending the Summer Concert Series on the Town Green to see Bus13, which follows the Market at 6:30 pm.

Summer Concert Series - BUS13
The Windsor Chamber of Commerce and First Town Downtown invite you to a concert on the green featuring BUS13, performing your all-time favorites from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Sponsored by the Windsor Independent Living Association (WILA). Free. 860-688-5165 or online at WindsorCC.org or firsttowndowntown.org.

*** The Rain Date is the following Tuesday ***

Stop by your favorite Windsor restaurant for a bite to eat or pack a picnic on the Green! Don't forget to visit the FTDT Farmers Market before the concert begins!

BUS13 is well known for their heartland-rock and alternative-country style. Singer/songwriter Todd Daniels found his musical inspiration from Jeff Tweedy & WILCO, Ryan Adams and Whiskeytown, Tom Petty, John Prine, and Neil Young. The band has thrived on their original indie roots and has released three studio albums including, “Reflector”, “Band Radio”, and “Underground Parties and Other Fabulous Shoes”.

“Daniels is an engaging front man. You can’t help being drawn in by the sentiments.”
~ Thomas Pizzola Hartford Advocate.

BUS13 first garnered national notoriety on SiriusXM radio for their first album “Reflector” with the song “My Green Bike”, a feel-great tune about Daniels’ childhood modified chopper bicycle. The song famously begins with Daniels singing “I’m feeling great today” and the listener is taken along for the uplifting ride. SiriusXM DJ, Billy Zero of the RADAR REPORT, touted BUS13 as one of the “Most Notable Unsigned Artists in the US”. Expect an engaging show and a lot of good Americana fun.

First Town Downtown Offers Heritage Bricks
First Town Downtown offers engraved bricks as a unique way to memorialize loved ones, commemorate special events, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, births, and to recognize civic groups, youth athletic teams, businesses, and volunteers. Visit the heritage bricks already in place and you will be sure to recognize Windsor people and organizations!

The engraved bricks are installed in the brick patio on the Town Green across from Central Street every June and October. The last day to order a brick for the October 3rd installation is August 10. When purchasing a brick, you can add up to 3 lines of 20 characters each for your special message. Select symbols can also be added. The cost of a heritage brick is $50.

A heritage brick is the perfect gift for any occasion. Make your friend, family, civic group or business a part of Windsor history for generations to see and celebrate! When you purchase a brick, you and your honoree will be invited to the Brick Installation Ceremony on Wednesday, October 3, at 10:00 am.

You may order Heritage bricks through our website firsttowndowntown.org.
