Farmers Market Starts Tomorrow, Thursday, June 28!
The First Town Downtown Farmers’ Market is about to begin its 10th year. This well-attended local marketplace held on Thursdays in Windsor center, includes locally grown fruits, vegetables, flowers, baked goods, herbs, eggs, milk, yogurt, cheese and more.

The Farmers’ Market opens on June 28th, runs through October 18th and is located at 240 Broad Street in the center of Windsor. First Town Downtown, an organization dedicated to promoting Windsor Center as a premier New England town center well positioned for recreational, economic and cultural activities, is once again the proud sponsor of the Market.

Our 2018 vendors include:

Amazing Ackee, located in Hartford, will bring Jamaican Ackee patties and cake

Beldotti Bakery, located in Stamford, CT specializes in fresh baked bread, homemade pesto and fresh mozzarella cheese.

Blessed Creek of Suffield will bring homemade herbal soaps and all natural cleaners.

Fanciful Flowers of Windsor Locks will bring fresh cut flowers.

Farms of Southern New England, located on Palisado Avenue in Windsor will offer seasonal produce.

Forgotten Acres Farm of Windsor specializes in honey and beeswax products.

Gragnolati’s Garlic Farm/Winlox Farms will bring seasonal produce.

OneSong Biscotti of Windsor will bring homemade biscotti.

Rooster Rise located in Berlin,CT, will bring fresh produce.

Qutie's Body Bar will offer body butters, face scrubs, and soap.

Stefanfarms, located in Windsor, will offer a variety of fresh produce.

Sweet Harmony Café & Bakery from Middletown will bring cookies, cake slices, pies, biscotti, assorted desserts

Sweet Pea Cheese, located in North Granby, CT will offer cow's and goat's milk, yogurt and a variety of cheeses.

Tomaca Designs will offer ladies bags, hats and accessories.

After the Farmers' Market, head over to the Town Green for the Summer Concert Series starting at 6:30! This week's band is Blue Sky, sponsored by Joyce and Dick Armstrong. (Rain date: Tuesday, July 3)



Blue Skies Big Band Opens the Summer Concert Series
The Windsor Chamber of Commerce and First Town Downtown invite you to a concert on the green on Thursday, June 28th, sponsored by Joyce & Dick Armstrong, featuring Blue Skies Big Band, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Free. 860-688-5165 or WindsorCC.org or firsttowndowntown.org.

Stop by your favorite Windsor restaurant for a bite to eat or pack a picnic on the Green! Don't forget to visit the FTDT Farmers Market before the concert begins!

Blue Skies Big Band is a 19 piece swing orchestra featuring both male and female vocalists, a full horn section and a full saxophone section to boot. The musicians of Blue Skies Big Band have been playing in the area for years, many with more than 25 years of personal experience!

Players have studied and performed music at the Universities of Connecticut and Massachusetts, Eastern Connecticut State University, and Westfield State University among others. These musicians have performed at the Eastern States Exposition, with regional community bands, in major parades and with pit orchestras for area theater groups. They have also played at countless other local venues. Several brass players were invited to backup The Temptations at The Calvin Theater.

About the Band: Blue Skies Big Band captures the energy and optimism that was the hallmark of swing music during its’ heyday. Picture war bonds and “Rosie the Riveter” and the fantastic sounds of notables like Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Artie Shaw, and Benny Goodman. The band also features songs from more contemporary artist like Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin, right up to today’s favorites, Harry Connick Jr, and Michael Buble.
