Upcycled Planter Challenge

Upcycled Planter Challenge

Challenge: The 2025 Upcycled Planter Challenge takes place June 21st through June 30th and coincides with the Windsor Garden Club’s Garden Tour on June 28th.

Design: Designers, artisans, and local gardening enthusiasts will be crafting butterfly-friendly planters from a variety of unusual items. We expect to have about forty upcycled planters on display at various sponsor locations, businesses and on the Windsor Town Green for viewing before the final voting and challenge on June 28, 2025.

Vote: Vote for your favorite planter and the designer with the most ‘likes’ will receive a prize! You’ll also have the unique opportunity to take one of these artistic, one-of-a-kind planters to your own home, by bidding for it in the online auction. Pickup will be on July 1st.

Sign Up: Designers, read the guidelines and sign up for this year's Upcycled Pollinator Planter Challenge here: Forms for Designers. Please remember to drop off of your planters on June 21st.

We’d Love Your Support!
Your Sponsorship—whether for the Event or one of our beautiful Planters—will help bring this special day to life. It’s a chance for our community to come together, learn, celebrate, and make a lasting impact. With your support, we can raise vital funds to promote butterfly habitat sustainability and foster a deeper connection with nature right here in our town. Send Pictures: We'd love to see your planters in progress! Please send photos to planter@ftdt.org with a description of your work. We may use some of your photos and words in our publicity for the event!
