Kick Band
August 9, 2012

Sponsored by: WCC & FTDT Board of Directors

Kick was conceived in 1996 as little more than an excuse for five guys from Connecticut to have fun playing songs they liked at the clubs they'd just be hanging out anyway (and, according to one of the more ambitious entries of their mission statement: "to someday leave a club with more money than (they) went in with.")

Kick was intended to be a side project from their various well-established original bands. And while those bands had built solid reputations, selling tens of thousands of albums and touring the country with some of the biggest names in rock, the virtually overnight success of Kick would ultimately afford them the opportunity to perform for over a million music fans at virtually every major venue in the Northeast.

Farmington Valley Band
August 16, 2012

Sponsored by: Carmon Funeral Homes and the Carmon Family

The Farmington Valley Band was organized in 1944 by Fred Widen, a long-standing native of Collinsville. In a way, it was an extension of the earlier Collinsville Boys Band, in which Mr. Widen had been a tuba player. Fred Widen was the driving force behind the Canton Historical museum as well, with his extensive collection of Collins related artifacts. His original Sousaphone can be seen there today, along with a re-created bandstand from the old days, worth the trip to see it. In the 1944 band reorganization, Mr. Victor Viering was selected as the band s conductor. Mr. Viering had been a trombonist in the Collinsville Boys Band.

First Church Gallery Choir - The Music Ministry of First Church in Windsor is committed to music that enhances worship, celebrates creation, fosters peace-making, and cries out for justice. The McMahon Family Choir - The McMahon family has been singing praise and worship music since Ray and Sally (Dad and Mom) met at the Hartt College of Music in West Hartford, CT, in the 1970s. Today they have 10 children, ranging in age from 14 - 30, who enjoy making a joyful noise together. For 22 years, Ray has served as pastor/principal of Praise, Power, & Prayer Temple & Christian School in Windsor.

Archer Memorial Praise Team- The Praise & Worship Ministry of Archer Memorial A.M.E Zion Church is devoted to sharing our gifts of song to celebrate the goodness of God and encourage others to worship God with joy and thanksgiving. The Archer Praise & Worship Ministry's mission is to augment the worship experience by the deliverance of the Gospel of God's word through song. The Praise & Worship ministry is under the leadership of Mr. Christopher Perry, Minister of Music.

Volume Praise Team - We are a body of believers that utilize their gifts, talents and abilities in a concerted effort to meet the needs of God's people through song and worship. To produce communities of love, care, and concern that reflects the nature and culture of the Kingdom.
