The latest crop of First Town Downtown Heritage Bricks will be installed on October 3rd into the brick patio on the green across from Central Street from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. All bricks purchased or gifted over the last few months will be brought together and laid into the patio for future generations to enjoy. Free.
First Town Downtown offers engraved bricks as a unique way to memorialize loved ones, commemorate special events, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, births, and recognize civic groups, youth athletic teams, businesses, and volunteers. Visit the heritage bricks already in place and you will be sure to recognize Windsor people and organizations!
The engraved bricks are installed in the brick patio on the Town Green across from Central Street every June and October. The last day to order a brick for the October 3rd installation is August 10. When purchasing a brick, you can add up to 3 lines of 20 characters each for your special message. Select symbols can also be added. The cost of a heritage brick is $50.
Proceeds from the Heritage Bricks benefit First Town Downtown, whose mission is to position and promote Windsor Center as a premier New England town center that protects and utilizes its proud heritage as the basis for developing vibrant recreational, economic and cultural activity.
Some First Town Downtown programs include the ever popular Farmers Market, co-sponsoring the Concerts on the Green with the Windsor Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Matters Morning Meetings and Nightmare on Broad Street.
A heritage brick is the perfect gift for any occasion. Make your friend, family, civic group or business a part of Windsor history for generations to see and celebrate! When you purchase a brick, you and your honoree will be invited to the Brick Installation Ceremony on Wednesday, October 3, at 10:00 am.
