First Town Downtown Member Visit - The Bean 226
First Town Downtown Member, Mel Madigan, Owner of The Bean 226, “We serve coffee because adulting is hard. We are creating an environment where everyone is welcome. I’m bringing a West Coast feel of the little café coffee shop to the East Coast. This has been a dream of mine for 20 years. It has come together and it’s a dream come true! The town of Windsor has been amazing! There is such a community feel. I feel like I have found the gem of Connecticut.”

“We have a Poetry series, monthly coffee mug paint nights and local author book signings. We also rotate local artists’ works at The Bean 226. You can buy paintings, jewelry, greeting cards and of course breakfast and lunch!”

“I want to get involved in fund-raisers. I will be selling t-shirts with $5 from each shirt sold will be used to donate items to veterinarians and animal shelters depending on their needs. We’ll find out what they need and donate those items.”
You can visit The bean 226 at 226 Broad Street, on Facebook (The Bean 226) or at www.thebean226.com
