Farmers' Market Soon to Return to Windsor Center

Farmers' Market Soon to Return to Windsor Center
It's that time of year when Windsor Center prepares for the return of the popular farmers' market, as it welcomes local vendors and their wares from Windsor and other parts of Connecticut. The market, which features locally-grown fruits and vegetables, baked goods, cheese, honey and homemade goods from artisans and specialty shops, is scheduled to open on June 20 in its usual place at 240 Broad St. Hours of operation are 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Thursday, through Oct. 24.

According to the First Town Downtown website, returning vendors will include local favorites like Windsor's Stefan Farms (fresh produce), Colgan Farm LLC (organic heirloom vegetables, pumpkins, gourds, kohlrabi and leeks), Forgotten Acres Farm (honey and beeswax products), Farms of Southern New England (seasonal produce), Get Baked (cookies, muffins and more), Newgate Farms (seasonal produce, baked goods and flowers) and Summer's Sweetest Watermelon (different sizes and varieties of fresh watermelon), in addition to seasonal produce from Walter Murkowicz, located in Windsor Locks; Sweet Pea Cheese in North Granby (cow's and goat's milk, yogurt and cheeses), Blessed Creek of Suffield (homemade herbal soaps and all natural cleaners), Rose Berry Farm of Glastonbury (fresh produce) and Beldotti Bakery of Stamford (fresh baked bread, homemade pesto and fresh mozzarella cheese).

This will be First Town Downtown's fifth season sponsoring the farmers' market at Windsor Center. The organization promotes Windsor Center as a premier New England town center, ideal for recreational, economic and cultural activities in the 21st century.
