Event:Connecticut’s Earliest European Settlers
Date:September 10th, 2016.
Time:11:00 AM
Location:Oliver Ellsworth Homestead
All are welcome to a presentation by Dr. Brian Jones, Connecticut State Archaeologist, at the Oliver
Ellsworth Homestead, 778 Palisado Avenue in Windsor, on Saturday, September 10, at 11
a.m. The program “Connecticut’s Earliest European Settlers: Recent Finds from Windsor and
Glastonbury” covers archaeology explorations conducted with the Friends of the Office of State Archaeology (FOSA). This summer Dr. Jones and the FOSA volunteers searched for the exact location of the original palisade built in Windsor in the 1600s, and last year’s field work focused on a possible site of the trading post constructed in 1633.

Hosted by the Abigail Wolcott Ellsworth Chapter DAR, the program is open to the public and free of charge. Donations will be accepted for the Connecticut State Museum of Natural History.

Tours of the historic Oliver Ellsworth Homestead will be available after the presentation ($5).
