Northwest Park Coffeehouse Concert
Bluegrass Featured at Northwest Park

The Friends of Northwest Park continue their live music series with The Bluegrass Gospel Project on Saturday March 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the Northwest Park Nature Center in Windsor, Connecticut.

The Bluegrass Gospel Project has been impressing audiences with expertly rendered performances since its inception in 2001. Over the years BGP’s repertoire has gone from primarily Gospel to an eclectic mix of songs which exhibit a wide stylistic range within the acoustic tradition and showcases their exceptional vocal capabilities. There still remains a thread of spiritual sensibility in their music selections but with the inclusions of folk and bluegrass the BGP’s repertoire now defies easy categorization and continues to thrill audiences with their impeccable vocal and instrumental performances.

Having released six full length albums BGP consists of Colby Crehan (lead vocals); Taylor Armerding (mandolin); Steve Light (banjo, dobro); Kirk Lord (upright bass); Paul Miller (guitar); and Gene White Jr (fiddle). “This group is a force to be reckoned with on stage...their voices and harmonies can make you see the light, and tremble.”. ..Vermont Life

The Northwest Park Nature Center is a smoke free, handicap accessible facility. For ticket information and reservations go on line at www.northwestpark.org or call the park at 860-285-1886, Proceeds from the concert will benefit environmental studies at the Park.
