The Haiku Path for Children ages 11 and up
Learn the art of writing in Haiku (a Japanese form of poetry)
Taught by Stanford M. Forrester a highly respected poet, editor and expert on haiku
August 15-19, 2016 • Monday–Friday • 9AM–4 PM
(students must be picked up by authorized parent or guardian by 5:00pm)
Tuition: $195 for week. Discount for WAC Members $175 for week.
Tuition includes materials and healthy morning and afternoon snacks.
Students will learn about Haiku and short poetry writing skills, explore poetry in
a deeper fashion, and be involved in a number of projects that combine art, nature
and poetry. The week long class culminates in a final project that creates and
publishes an anthology of all the students work.
Also, many of the writing skills the kids will acquire can be directly applied to their school English
classes no matter if they are writing prose or verse. A great prep in summertime for the fall.
