Monday April 11, 2022 at The Bean @226 at 226 Broad Street in Windsor from 12:00pm to 4:00pm (Rain Date: Tuesday April 12, 2022) How We Got Started: Our families have been working towards helping children and their families directly impacted by the war in Ukraine. We have been discussing how many children and their families have been forced to leave their homes with just the clothes on their backs to seek safety. Our children have wanted to host a lemonade stand for some time. Combining lemonade with helping others inspired our kids. Our last lemonade stand delivered $322 in funds to Kidsave.org. In addition to the lemonade stand, we started The Little Blue Backpack Project. The kids put together 30 backpacks filled with comfort and essential items. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss were donated by Dr. Farley’s office located in Windsor. Our Mission for April 11th: We want to expand the Little Blue Backpack Project and send more backpacks to children seeking refuge in Zamosc, Poland. This time around, our goal is to provide additional essentials such as underwear and socks, which are in great demand. Any additional funds will be donated directly to Directrelief.org. Since the war broke out, direct Relief has deployed more than 164 tons of medical aid to Ukraine. We want to thank Scott from Ace Hardware of Windsor for offering to match the first $200 from this event.
