First Town Downtown Inc is pleased to announce Genevieve Lattimer as its new Executive Director.

Genevieve Lattimer comes from the Hartford Marathon Foundation where she managed teams of volunteers and coordinated large events. Most recently she handled all aspects of office management including technology upgrades and coordinating the Eversource Hartford Marathon Official Charity Program, a 25-charity group event.

“As a life-long resident, I am thrilled to bring my skills and experience to First Town Downtown, an organization that has been praised for its positive influence on our community. I look forward to building upon the mission of promoting Windsor Center as a vibrant recreational, economic and cultural destination,” said Genevieve Lattimer, new Executive Director of First Town Downtown.

Outgoing Executive Director, Jane Garibay says, "I'm leaving First Town in good hands with Genevieve. She is highly organized, a fantastic planner, works well with others, is a team builder and she plans to uphold the high standards of the organization. Did I mention she loves Windsor and understands the importance of a vibrant downtown?" Garibay, who is the Connecticut State Representative for Windsor and Windsor Locks plans to continue work with Representative Q Phipps, her Main Street Working Group co-chair, at the Capitol to support Main Streets and Transit Oriented Development throughout the state. "I look forward to working with Genevieve!”

Sharran Selig Bennett, President of the First Town Board commented, "We are very sorry to see Jane go; she has had such positive impact on First Town Downtown. But we also wholeheartedly welcome Genevieve to our team. She will bring a unique perspective to First Town based on her long experience managing people and projects, especially with non-profit organizations. Her proven leadership and experience will bring valuable insight to First Town's goals and programs."

Jane M. Garibay, Executive Director

Jane Garibay has been a life-long resident of Windsor with a few years in Mexico and Vermont. She is the Representative for the 60th district in the Connecticut legislature, representing most of Windsor and all of Windsor Locks. She was the Executive Director of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce from 1999 - 2018. Jane’s more than 40 years of volunteerism include serving as Windsor Board of Education President from 2000 to 2005. Her recent volunteer activities include serving as President and co-founder of the Windsor Education Foundation, President of the Windsor Food and Fuel Bank and past President and Board member of Windsor Community Television and co-chair of Windsor’s Schools to Business Partnership. In 2011 she was elected to the Board of Directors of the New England Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives and served for two years. In 2014 Jane again joined the board as Treasurer and was elected President in November 2018. She is also a part of the Family-Community Partnership, member of the Nutmeg Senior Rides Advisory Council and chairs Project Santa providing holidays for more than 350 children each year.

Jane lives in Windsor with her husband Bernardo and niece Jennie, and a dachshund named Otto. They have three children: Jose, Andrew, and Cate and a grandson Faolan.

Sabrina Rivera, First Town Downtown Communications Specialist

Sabrina Rivera, First Town Downtown Communications Specialist
Sabrina has lived in Windsor for most of her life. As the Communications Specialist for First Town Downtown for the past year, Sabrina has produced marketing material that has helped to convey the organization’s mission and collaboration efforts with the community and small businesses. She has also introduced professional video content to the organization’s digital media presence. A recent graduate of the University of Hartford, Sabrina has earned her BA in Communication (Advertising & Public Relations, Media & Journalism) and was awarded the program’s 2019 Award for Excellence in the Undergraduate Study of Communication. Sabrina is continuing her education towards a Master’s in Communication while working as a Graduate Teaching Intern at the University of Hartford. Sabrina also currently serves as a board member on the Windsor Education Foundation.

Sabrina lives in Windsor with her family and Pomeranian puppy named Panda.
