Mainstreet Matters Morning Meeting


FirstTown Downtown held the first Mainstreet Matters Morning Meeting on October 1, 2014. Hosting the event was the new cafe on Broad Street, 226 Jazz Art Java. Town Manager, Peter Souza, spoke to the group of FirstTown members, downtown business people and property owners about the current plans and future progress of downtown development. Economic Development Director, James Burke, also addressed the crowd to discuss the recent TOD center study results.

The First Town Downtown Farmers' Market is in its 6th season! This well-attended local marketplace includes locally grown fruits, vegetables, baked goods, cheese, honey and occasional artisans with their crafts.

The Farmers' Market runs until October 23 and is located at 240 Broad Street 3:30-6:30.

October 2 Vendors:


Autumn Oak Farms of Tolland will bring a variety of fresh produce, eggs, soaps, salsa, pickles and relishes.

Beldotti Bakery, located in Stamford, CT specializes in fresh baked bread, homemade pesto and fresh mozzarella cheese.

Blessed Creek of Suffield will be bringing homemade herbal soaps and all natural cleaners.

Broad Brook Beef of Broad Brook is an all-natural, pasture-raised, dry-aged beef that's 100% grown and harvested right here in the Connecticut River Galley

Farms of Southern New England, located on Palisado Avenue in Windsor will be bringing seasonal produce.

Forgotten Acres Farm of Windsor specializes in honey and beeswax products. For more info visit www.forgottenacresfarm.com

Stefan Farms, located in Windsor will be offering a variety of fresh produce.

226 Jazz Art Java and Windsor Food bank is pairing up to collect food!

October 1st through December 20th 226 will be collecting non perishable food items for the food bank- and as a thank you- 226 will be giving out a 12oz Coffee.
