The Windsor Chamber of Commerce and First Town Downtown invite you to the summer concert series sponsored by Windsor Businesses. Concerts are on Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm 9:00 pm on the Windsor Town Green and are free to the public. June 25th - Rathkeltair 7:00 pm Taking top honors for "Best Celtic Rock Band" of 2006 in the Celtic MP3s Music Magazine Annual Audience Poll, RATHKELTAIR (pronounced rath-KELT-ur) enjoys a loyal and growing international fan base. RATHKELTAIR consists of bagpiper Neil Anderson and drummer Nick Watson, two original members of America's ground-breaking Celtic rock supergroup 7 Nations, and guitarist Trevor Tanner, front-man/lead guitarist/songwriter for The Bolshoi, one of the most influential UK rock bands of the late '80's. 2006 was a crazy year for RATHKELTAIR, with 'piper Neil Anderson being called up for a tour of duty in Iraq. The band down-shifted temporarily while Neil went off to serve his country. Neil's recent return home has kicked the band into high gear again, with a new CD and lots of new dates in the works. The name RATHKELTAIR comes from drummer Nick Watson, a native of County Down, Northern Ireland. It means "hill of the Celts" and is an ancient archeaological site near the village where Nick grew up. July 2nd - Star Dyn-O-Myte Disco Review - 7:00 pm The All-Star Dyn-O-Myte Disco Review is the East Coast's hottest and most authentic "Flashback to the '70's band. The six-piece group combines great dance music from the disco/funk era with a fun, interactive stage show that appeals to people of all ages. Sponsored by Alstom Power website

July 9th - Tirebiter Band - 7:00 pm Connecticut based TIREBITER is a veteran band of twenty-nine years. Two lead vocals and four part harmony provide a dynamic change of vocal emphasis on stage, as well as super harmonies. Diversity of musicianship and playing ability allow TIREBITER to perform songs from an eclectic artist list ranging from the 1960 s to the 2000's. Instruments include keyboards, bass guitar, lead guitar, and drums. Rescheduled to July 28th - Hartford Steel Band - 7:00 pm Established since 1989, the Hartford Steel Symphony has been providing musical enjoyment around the New England Area for many years. Our musical genre consists of Soca, Calypso, Reggae, Pop, Classical, Gospel and Jazz; all with an island rhythm. The band is comprised of members that have all competed in several years of steel band competitions and musical extravaganzas. With these countless performances, the band has continually finished at the top of the competition. Besides competitive playing, the band has enjoyed playing with celebrity figures in a host of charity, personal and independent events. Among these celebrity performances, we have had the honor of hosting events with Bernadette Peters and Aundrey Hepurn. August 13th - Eight To The Bar - 7:00 pm Drawing its musical influences from American roots music - swing, boogie woogie, rhythm & blues, soul, Motown, - Eight to the Bar is known for its outstanding instrumentalists and sophisticated musical and vocal arrangements, highlighted by female vocals. With the support of independently-produced albums and videos, Eight to the Bar has cultivated a large, enthusiastic following that has put them in clubs from Disneyland to Disney World as well as Europe and the Carribean. Their rigorous performing schedule (approximately 200 dates per year), has included opening spots for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Manhattan Transfer, Robert Cray, Neil Young, Roy Orbison, and Ray Charles. August 20th - Valley Swing Shift - 7:00 pm The Valley Swing Shift Orchestra has been bringing the big band sounds to New England since 1977. They've performed at weddings, private parties, corporate functions, concerts, fund raisers, and on stage with three different shows. The band has a library of over 400 arrangements - from traditional big band to contemporary.
